This is an account of a reader who got reinfected with covid. Whitepigeon, as he would like to be called, feels the worst is yet to come for India. The account has not been edited to preserve its emotional flow. Readers are requested to appreciate the experience of the writer and the essence of what he is trying to say. You can follow his journey pictorially in the Instagram handle shared below.

In 1912, the Titanic ship was thought to be unsinkable. The front guards missed warning the ship on time about the iceberg, and it sank finally. When lifeboats arrived, there were few lives left to be saved.
There was expertise all around, captains, crew, passengers, but they were limited to their own silos of domain knowledge and were doing best that they could.
Amid all of this chaos, there was Leanardo de Caprio. What was special about him is his life experiences, and his own belief in his mind, and of course directors and writers who created his imaginary character.
He saw it all from the beginning. He survived till the ship sank, and was finally defeated from cold water. He had some instinct, due to which he understood the whole ship, the whole system and the need for survival.
Moving forward from 1912 to 13 March 2020, India recorded its first Covid Related death, with 77 infections and Delhi and Haryana states had declared it a pandemic. The Honourable Prime Minister Of India rightly imposed a lockdown after the Junta Curfew.
India has been fighting this war since then with the lowest mortality rate in the world, and it’s now part and parcel of our life. Vaccines trials are being announced. There is hope. So far, so good.
When China was reporting close to 4k infections per day, I was scared and was hoping all international flights should be banned in India from abroad in January itself. But we are optimistic. We can fight by screening and quarantine protocols. When Italy and the US went through it, we still didn’t do much in February.
We only reacted when we got struck. And it has cost us officially 91 Lakh infections, 1.33 lakh deceased people. Of course, the country media choose to focus on China war, SSR and Rhea, and rightfully so because it’s scary to show people what is happening in hospitals.
Now its February of 2020 Again. Time to take action. If we wait a month more, tragedy is waiting. You must have heard the whole village testing positive for Covid. That is the next iceberg hitting us again, and I am sounding an alarm.
I am Whitepigeon. I travelled on the last train that ran from my workplace to my hometown to reunite with my family because I knew lockdown was coming. I got lucky. My family was struck with mid covid infection in Sept. we all recovered at home. We got lucky again.
My in-law family was stuck with mild covid infection in Nov 2020. I was there too. I got reinfected and ran out of luck. I’m 30 years old. 8 days I treated fever of 100-104 at home Post that I developed breathing complications and was hospitalised.
I saw Covid from very near in the hospital, and real effort doctors, health workers and staff are putting. I got discharged and came back home. Now the “fun” begins. My parents’ home is a government quarter built in the 1980s. Surrounded by lush green trees and green campus.
Basically the weather of January I’m experiencing in November. Maybe this is the luck India needed, and I’m communicating.
I’m perfectly fine, and my survival instinct has kicked again. I got 102 fever after I took a bath. Dolo 625 brought it down to normal. I have the perfect care available from my parents. I have 2 sweaters, a room heater, vitals check, post covid medicines, and everything to rest and recover.
To survive another week, I chose to get bedridden in my room. The real fight is now cold weather. I’m worried now about those hospital patients, workers, their health, doctors bandwidth, beds availability. Basically life-saving resources. They need blankets heaters what not to feel the warmth. And If I go out, there is no fear left now.
India, fear it now. Health workers are tired, and we are facing a fresh enemy. Lock yourself this winter, even if there is no lockdown. It’s not a matter of if, but when. I feel like I have seen it all. I feel like we are running out of time. It’s a ticking bomb. Yes, I wish to create some fear. Fear is necessary for precautions.
Think everyone. You should have some ideas. Everyone should come together now, and prevent the Titanic from sinking, and just letting the bottom floor sailing, till lifeboats arrive if they ever.
For me, its vitals, food, rest, warmth, hope and prayers for my country.
Signing off after the first post of my life. This was written on mobile, as I don’t have anything else with me from the past few days.

Most investor problems can be traced to a lack of informed decision making. We have all made bad decisions and money mistakes when we started earning and spent years undoing these mistakes. Why should our children go through the same pain? What is this book about? As parents, if we had to groom one ability in our children that is key not only to money management and investing but for any aspect of life, what would it be? My answer: Sound Decision Making. So in this book, we meet Chinchu, who is about to turn 10. What he wants for his birthday and how his parent’s plan for it and teach him several key ideas of decision making and money management is the narrative. What readers say!
