Mutual Fund Screener Updates

There are two types of mutual fund screeners available at freefincal. Here are some updates along with a navigation guide. Both screeners capture data from Value Research.

  1. Mutual Fund Screener based on lump sum returns (version 4.0)
  2. Mutual Fund Screener based on SIP returns (Version 1.1.0)

The main reason behind this post is that there is a mistake in the way one of the shortlisting is done. It may not change results by much, but it is a mistake nonetheless.

Latest versions of the lump sum screener 

There are 3 versions. You can use any of them.

Excel Version (lump sum): Download the Automated Mutual Fund Screener (the main page also have the updated version)

Google sheet versions (lump sum): 

1. Download the Freefincal Mutual Fund Screener- Google Sheets Edition pack - Unzip and upload to Google sheets along with a script (adapted by Ramesh Venigopal). Instructions are here: Mutual Fund Screener- Google Sheets Edition

3. Ramesh Vijayaraghavan figured out that authentication is necessary for CSV files only. Their html can be imported without username and password. I tried to do this, but failed.

Ramesh and Riyaz sent me these modifications within minutes of each other!

Ramesh Vijayaraghavan made some modifications to simplify usage. Download it from here:

  • Make a copy
  • Please wait until all calculations are done. The default category is "Large cap" and default reference rank is '15'.
  • Go to screener sheet and play with shortlisting.
