Birds at IIT Madras

Now for some Sunday leisure. IIT Madras is part of a forest reserve. Over the years, I had some strange encounters with the flora and fauna (read snakes) there. There was even a ‘beware of crocodiles’ (actual crocs  not humans!) sign not too long ago.  It is home to about 85 species of birds (including migratory ones). My wife is on a mission to photograph them all!

  3. Cant believe these exotic and absolutely delightful birds were spotted in a place like Chennai.Can I know the how many days Rama took to photograph these birds.Am sure it was quite long and required an awful patience.Congrats Rama

  5. very good pictures, i am very happy to heard that very few peoples have such hobbies apart from having hobbies which have only financial interest. and i think pattu have also contributed for it.

  6. Kudos to your wife, Pattu on this mission. Indeed IIT Madras is a delightful place for wildlife.. I have enjoyed it immensly.. Couple of those birds black bittern, striated heron were lifers for me..!!

    Good, for a change finance was indeed made truly personal 🙂
