How I Track Financial Goals Plus Two add-ons To the Portfolio Tracker

Here is a short video of how I track my financial goals – progress to early retirement and my son’s education. I have also linked two add-ons – a PPF tracker and advanced retirement calculator that can be inserted into the freefincal automated mutual fund and financial goal tracker.

Announcement: You Can Be Rich Too With Goal Based Investing is now 30% OFF at Amazon (hardcover ₹ 278) and at Flipkart . The Kindle edition(you can use the free app to read it). is available for only ₹90.74.  The Google Play Store edition (read on PC/Tab/mobile) is also available for the same price. Grab them before the offer ends!

I prefer Excel to other services because I can incorporate features as I like and most services do not have these. Most DIY investors with basic Excel skill can pull this off. And in any case, one can use online portfolio trackers and simply enter current portfolio values into the add-ons linked below to get same insights.

Have a look at the video first. All relevant links are below.

The features of the portfolio tracker are described with screenshots here: Features of the freefincal mutual fund and financial goal tracker.

Existing users can insert these two add-ons as mentioned in the video. Note: these add-ons can also be used on a stand-alone basis- just insert the value your portfolio in appropriate places and you are good to go.

Click to download PPF Tracker add-on. Alternatively, you can use the full PPF calculator and tracker for more insights.

Click to download Retirement Calculator add-on (this is the same as the “even low-stress retirement calculator” with a minor change).

This is the new version of the automated tracker with the add-ons inserted. This is for new users: Automated mutual fund and financial goal tracker – June 2017

  1. Hello Pattu
Is there a way input sheet can be improved to consider if there is change in SIP amount instead of creating a new entry? Let’s say if I was investing SIP of 1000 INR on HDFC equity and that I got revised to 2000 INR SIP from the future month, in the current template I will have to create a new entry with different nick name instead of altering the SIP amount and SIP date. This may be little complicated on excel but thought to check with you once. Please share your thoughts. Regards/Daya
