    1. Are you not able to access the Excel file via the download link at the bottom of the post? You will need Excel 2007 with macros enabled.

    Thanks for the excel. It’s a pretty useful tool. There are a couple of errors i noticed, NAVs arent available for download for some schemes. Example – HDFC top 200 – growth (normal option). I checked your code – it seems amfi code isnt the code used in yahoo finance for these schemes.
    Also daily NAVs are available only post 18th July 2012 for the schemes I checked. Before that, date, monthly NAVs are being downloaded. Please check. Thanks

    1. Thanks for pointing this out Raghav. That is a pity as not much can be done if AMFI code is not used. Reg. dates it does give since inception NAV for funds I checked. Perhaps it does not work with all funds.

      If there is another reliable source for NAV history I can replace Yahoo Finance with that.

  3. Nice article but the excel file not able to calculate. Says cannot run the macro. Macro may not be available in this workbook or disable. I have enabled macros. Using excel 2010

  4. Nice Work Sir!! It was not working for some unknown reason. Figured out the url has been changed for AMFI NAV history download. Replaced the link and works now.
