Rajesh Dalmia a certified financial planner and director of Mandar Learning Academy has authored an impressive do it yourself financial planning guide for investors to understand the basic features of insurance planning and goal-based investing.

The guide has four excellent calculation charts that enable one to calculate

  • Necessary life insurance cover
  • Corpus’s needed for retirement, child’s education and marriage
  • Monthly investment required for each goal

It also has a chart which provides information on suitable asset allocation and investment vehicles based on the time horizon of a goal.

Basic concepts and terminology used in insurance, retirement and investment planning are explained crisply.

  1. Good explanation. It would have been better if it was in an excel sheet, We could get the results instantly.
    Keep up the good work.

  2. i wonder how many people are able to figure out themselves what will be their future goals & how calculation are to be carried to day to day vagaries of market.what we find in our decade long experience that people act on emotions ,not logic as you may be expecting(that is the reason over 60000 crores comes to traditioanal life insurance plan annually which hardly gives any meaningful returns. In India people are not logical enough to separate the difference between right & wrong & such calculators serve as showcase item more rather than day to day use. They are very correct but they gives part solution only.financial planning is an art as well as science & is not every body's cup of tea.
pl dont get me wrong i am referring to masses not classes.(Rajeev Gupta ,CFPCM)
