Update: Download Version 2 of the Freefincal Robo Advisory Software Template

This is an update to the Freefincal Robo Advisory Software Template released in Sep. 2017. The robo template is free to use and can be used to create a “start-to-finish” money management solution for all age groups. In this first update, I have now added two features:

1: Many people have insurance policies with an investment component to it – endowment, money back, ulip etc.  If they wish to hold onto it, then they can now enter it as a “sum they will receive close to the goal deadline”. This was possible for retirement in version 1. Now I have extended it other financial goals.

2: The retirement inputs can handle three post-retirement income streams (rent, pension etc.). Now I have added an option for this income to start & stop any time during retirement. For example, you can now add a rental income that will start only the 5th year in retirement. Down the line, if you sell that property, you can revisit the robo template, and add the sales proceed in the calculation and set the rental income to stop from a certain year in retirement.  This is a screenshot.

My aim is pretty simple: I would like to make the robo template as practical to use as possible. A user with an old and cluttered portfolio should still be able to use it. The above two updates have been based on feedback received from users of the first version.

If you are existing robo template user, download this update only if the above changes will affect your inputs. If it will, you can go to the download link below to get the template.

If you wish to download the template for the first time, then please head over to the main page to understand its basic features and then download the latest version from there:

Paid, Open source version of the freefincal robo advisory software template

The features mentioned in this post (and many others) are hidden in the free version of the template. Those interested in getting full access (to present and future versions) can do so for a nominal* one-time fee by writing to freefincal [at] gmail.com.

*  nominal when compared to other robo software pricing schemes. Please don’t tell me what price you would pay. This is not an auction.

Please note: Freefincal is a non-profit operation. You can support the websites and its future plans (eg. setting up the robo template online or as an app) by spreading word about the website; disabling ad-blockers while you are here or buying one of the versions below.

A robo template, by definition and design, should not be freely modified. Else it will reduce to a calculator. Hence the need to prevent access.

Robo template for Mac: I have received several requests for this.  The Mac version is ready with a cool Mission Impossible-like a self-destruct feature if run on windows 🙂 However, I cannot provide the .xlsb file as is since it can be easily cracked. Therefore interested Mac users will have to pay a token fee to access the locked Exce file or can buy the unlocked version too.

Robo template for Libre Office: The terms of use will be the same as that for Mac. I need some time to get this working. Will announce it soon.

Robo template for Google Sheets:  Work in progress.

Robo template for the cloud/app:   If you know of a competent programmer who can understand algorithms (meaning someone who can understand in the first reading)  as well as has a basic investing knowledge, please ask them to contact me.
