The 14th edition of the freefincal stock analyzer is now available for free download. Since Morningstar changed to site layout the sheet could no longer download financials and many users wrote to me about this. In this edition, I had changed the way the sheet retrieves data. Give this a try and let me know your feedback. What does this sheet do you ask?
The automated stock analyzer pulls financials from Morningstar, stock price history from moneycontrol and calculates the intrinsic value in six different ways, along with Dupont analysis, Graham number, Piotroski and Altman Z-scores for financial health.
It also auto-generates Hewitt Heiserman Jr.’s Earnings Power Box, thanks to the efforts of Rs. Srivatsan, who explained how to identify good business from a bad one: It’s Earnings That Count: Forget the next Infy; Can you identify the next Satyam? This is my fav tool in the sheet!
If you do not prefer MorningStar financials, you can use Automated Earnings Power Stock Analysis With Screener.in data
Downloading Financials From MorningStar
The new sheet has been created with the latest Office 365 edition and will only work in Excel version that supports Power Query functions (above Exel 2010 versions). It will not work in Mac.
All you need to do is to follow the instructions step by step as given in the sheet. Select the stock you need to analyze ==> Clear the existing data in the MorningStar financial sheet ==> Run the data query ===> Open the auto-downloaded CSV file from MorningStar ===> Copy data and paste on to the analysis sheet.
